Jane Stoddard Exhibit at Brothers of Mercy

Thursday, 10/15/26, was the opening reception for Jane Stoddard’s exhibit in The Art Gallery at Montabaur Heights at the Brothers of Mercy Wellness Campus. After corresponding for years, I finally got to meet Jane Stoddard at the reception. She does amazing photorealism with watercolor, and you can see the fondness for boats in her subject matter that she picked up on trips to Maine. Wonderful draftsperson, Meticulous work.

I’ve been serving on the committee for the Wellness through Art program at Brothers of Mercy since its inception 3 years ago. I recommend seeing the exhibits in this space. They invested in excellent art hanging systems and lighting. It smells wonderful, and they have the best staff in the world.

Jane’s work will be showing 10/15/26-12/31/26.

Second Place at NFWS Fall Show 2025

My painting, “Bouquet”, just won Second Place in the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society Fall Show. Juror Gary Tucker wrote about it: “A resonating painting that holds your attention long after a first glance. The composition is thoughtful and the jouney the painter takes us on – through use of color and transparency – reminds of the mystery watercolor evokes.” Thank you, Gary.

Broad Strokes, an Exhibit featuring Carol Kellogg, Sandy Ludwig, Mary Jo Ketchum, Cathy Skerker, Carol Case Siracuse, and Sally Treanor is at The Phoenix at 269, fine dining at 269 Amherst Street, Buffalo, NY 14207.

Exhibit runs from October 1, 2025 through January 3, 2026.

Erie Canal Exhibit

The grand opening for the Erie Canal exhibit that I’ve been curating for months is in just a few days, 9/25/25 at the Brothers of Mercy Art Gallery at Montabaur Heights. It’s looking great, and I’m so appreciative of Ed Cardoni for jurying it. My own offering, “Sal’s Canal”, is shown below. (It’s not eligible for an award because I was too involved in putting the show together.)
